Disaster Case Advocacy Outreach Coordinators will begin visiting households in neighborhoods that may still have unmet needs related to the June 2024 floods. Coordinators will provide important information about available resources and connect residents with the Disaster Case Advocacy Program (DCA).
The outreach program will start at the end of July 2025 and run until October 2025. It will be divided into four phases, each lasting 3 to 4 weeks and focusing on specific areas:
Phase One: Sioux, O'Brien, Clay
Phase Two: Lyon, Osceola, Dickinson, Emmet, Palo Alto, Humboldt
Phase Three: Buena Vista, Cherokee, Plymouth, Woodbury, Monona
Phase Four: Pottawattamie, Scott
The order of phases and the counties included may be subject to change as necessary. Local officials will be promptly notified as coordinators prepare to visit neighborhoods.
DCA coordinators will wear neon-colored vests and branded Tetra Tech t-shirts for easy identification. They will also carry ID and work in pairs.
DCA Coordinators visiting neighborhoods will never ask for Social Security Numbers, photo IDs, or other forms of identification, or income information during their visit.
