Flooding in Cherokee County, Summer 2010.The Federal Emergency Management Agency assigns a number to every Presidentially-declared disaster.  These are the most recent disasters for the state of Iowa.

 

2013

The most recent Presidential Disaster Declaration came on July 31, 2013, for severe storms, tornadoes and flooding which occurred June 21-28, 2013 in 10 counties. The declaration was for for Public Assistance and also provided funding statewide for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.

 

On July 2, 2013, Iowa received a Presidential Disaster Declaration for 47 counties as a result of severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding that took place May 19-June 14, 2013. The declaration was for Public Assistance and also provided funding statewide for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. On Aug. 8, two additional counties were added to the declaration.

 

On May 31, 2013, Iowa received a Presidential Disaster Declaration for 19 counties as a result of severe storms, straight-line winds, and flooding that took place April 17-30, 2013. The declaration was for Public Assistance and also provided funding statewide for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. On June 20, Jefferson County was added to the declaration, bringing the total number of counties covered by the declaration to 20.

 

On May 6, 2013, a Presidential Disaster Declaration was issued for five counties for a severe winter storm that took place April 9-11, 2013. The declaration was for Public Assistance and also provided funding statewide for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.

2012

There were no Presidential declarations in 2012.
