PROCLAMATION OF DISASTER EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, On Saturday, April 14, 2012, severe storm systems moved across portions of Iowa; and
WHEREAS, These storm systems spawned severe weather producing tornadoes that had impacts to private and public property, including residences and businesses; and
WHEREAS, Local officials and residents impacted by this severe weather need assistance to deal with the impacts of these storms; and
WHEREAS, Surveys and reports forwarded by local officials in Fremont and Union Counties indicate that state assistance will be needed to respond to and recover from the effects of these storms.
NOW, THE NOW,THEREFORE I, Terry E. Branstad, Governor of the State of Iowa, do hereby proclaim a state of disaster emergency for Fremont and Union counties in the State of Iowa, for the aforementioned reasons. This proclamation of disaster emergency authorizes state governments to render goods and sufficient aid to assist those areas in this time of need.
